A South London native with a law degree, Yinka’s love for music lead her to pursue other dreams and she successfully landed herself the presenting role on Rinse FM’s Breakfast Show in 2015. With her infectious energy, Yinka built up a loyal fan base at Rinse and in 2016, secured a prime role presenting a daily show on one of the UK’s biggest radio stations, Capital XTRA. Yinka’s popularity and distinctive voice lead her on to delivering the stations evening show, a position she continues to hold.
Not shy on-screen, Yinka hosted the MOBO awards nominations event in 2017 and went on to cover online and backstage at the main show. In April 2018, Yinka teamed up with Diet Coke & Refinery 29 for a new series “A Diet Coke Break With..” which flips the script on hot topics.
She may be aiming high but Yinka’s feet are firmly on the ground, giving a Ted Talk entitled “The Myth Of Escaping The Ghetto” in 2017. The talk reached audiences of thousands and received glowing reviews. Yinka continued to build her reputation as an engaging speaker and hosted a stage at AfroRepublic 2018.
Yinka has since delved into the world of factual film making; fronting her first two documentaries in 2018, commissioned by Anglia Ruskin University; Love, Lies & Nudes which takes a look at the murky world of “revenge porn” and Music Is The Answer which explored the relationship between music and mental health.
Also a DJ, playing at Capital XTRA events such as Brunch ’n’ Beats and Reloaded Live, Yinka has festivals such as LoveBox, Hideout and hosting the Wireless Festival 2018 Main-stage under her belt.
