August is almost here.. Here’s what I have been up to:
Do you remember at the beginning of the year I was saying that 2018 scared me because it felt like everyone was on fast forward? That there was something in the air that was causing everyone to run around trying to “make it”
Well I thought I should check in and let you know how my year is going. Short answer? Well, its ok.
I think it is important to note what you have achieved and not just concentrate on what you want or what is yet to come. I worry that we are so focused on the announcement, that the hardworking is often over-looked. I also worry that we think so much about what we have achieved professionally that we are in danger of forgetting about the personal growth, the personal milestones that the year can bring. (Substitute we:I if you dont feel this way lol)
I was sitting in the park the other day, I had a few hours before radio so sought out a bench and a snack. An elderly couple were walking past and took one look at me and decided I was unemployed. I know.. But what are they to know? I am a person, of working age who is sitting in the park during typical working hours instead of earning my keep. They don’t know that I actually work in the evening or that I had in fact just come from a pretty sick gig at MTV.
Yes they annoyed me at the time and I ranted for the whole day on Insta-stories but it did inspire me. To have a little look at the last 6 1/2 months and see just what I have been up to
I have my own show with Diet Coke & Refinery 29 which you can watch here
DJ bookings: I have taken so many more bookings this year, I think it definitely has something to do with me growing in confidence. My mates come to a lot of my bookings and they gas me into thinking I am the best lol
A few of my faves of 2018 so far:
I am now official a model (:
Well I have been signed to Elite Collective which is BLOODY AWESOME. You never know you may se me on billboards soon (yes that is me throwing that into the universe)
I am sure that by the time December rolls around and we start reflecting and thinking about the year; I will have more to report but for now I think I am doing pretty well, I don’t really measure my success by how much I have done but more on how it makes me feel and I feel pretty ok.
I know we like to feel busy, doing radio daily already does that for me if I am honest so everything else is a plus. I think it is important to note the little victories down so that you down forget or feel guilty on the days when you just want to chill in the park on a deck chair eating prawns (thats what I was eating, and they were delicious) x
