… Sydney Davies
Another month and another #YinkasSpotlight and this month I have an absolute GEM of a designer to show you! If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I have been crushing hard on Sydney Davies and it is NOT a one night stand BELIEEEEE DAT! I am in deep deep love with this brand and I am not afraid who knows it.
I found out about Sydney Davies when I put an advert on my Instagram page asking for brands to use on #YinkasSpotlight and someone mentioned Sydney Davies. It didn’t take long for me to be convinced that the brand is the best thing since the high heel haha If you are looking for something truly unique and innovative then this is where you need to be shopping.
She is a Herriot Watt University graduate, and has worked for Alexander McQueen. She designs and produces all of her clothes herself.
You would be forgiven for thinking that these clothes are from shops such as Zara or a designer such as Vivienne Westwood, and that is because this brand is a perfect mixture of Ready To Wear and Couture.
I am only wearing one of the many Sydney Davies designs I am obsessed with (There is a plastic range which is to die for) but that doesn’t mean I only like this particular style, more Instagram looks are coming very very shortly.
This is from her debut collection which is named LICLILLV and was released in time for SS14. The collection consists of dresses, shirts, jackets and suits for both male and female. I am even in love with the mens collection too! This particular suit is probably the most comfortable thing I have put on since a onesie, it fits absolutely perfectly, which I often find difficult with shirts, and the high-waisted trousers were an instant favourite. Check out her Instagram hereIn 2015 it is genuinely hard to be original but I think the Sydney Davies is one of the future heavyweights of British fashion. A true visionary. And I can’t wait for what she produces in the future!
These photos were taken in Gods Own Junkyard which is in Walthamstow and is pretty awesome, and was the perfect location to show off this badboy suit. I paired it with a crochet halter top which is from Primark and as the fashionistas would say ‘its so this season’ haha! The trainers I’m wearing are from Nike and are part of a range of shoes designed using Liberty print and only dropped this summer. You can buy them here
Photos by Solomon Boyede who also shot another blog of mine – Ooh and he shot it on film, which means no editing!
Your To Do list this week should definitely include checking out the Sydney Davies website and treat yourself, payday is around the corner lol Stay blessed ❤
